David Trattles

David Trattles will be speaking this Friday at Ryerson University as part of Kodak Lecture Series. He will be speaking about his 15 years of cycling and trotting around the globe and his experiences as a documentary photographer. Trattle’s lectures and images are beautiful as well as wonderfully entertaining.

La Biennale di Veneziathink with the senses, feel with the mind, art in the present tense

Personal favorites:
 + The Serbian pavilion, exhibiting Mrdjan Bajic’s works; painting, drawings, sculpture and multimedia.
 + The Italian pavilion, works by Angelo Filomeno made from silk, embroidered and bejeweled. + Short films by China’sYang Fudong.

Other artists/works worth mentioning:
 + Charles Gaines, León Ferrari, Paolo Canervari, Y.Z. Kami, Sigmar Polke, Izumi Kato, Nalini Malani, Nalini Malani, Joshua Mosley and the Venetian pavilion: a tribute to Emilio Vedova.
